I figured I would try a half day at twin oaks since I was flying solo for the day. I haven't been in a while, and it didn't disappoint. It was a balmy 35 degrees at dawn with zero clouds, zero wind, and barometer going up. Terrible conditions usually, but they were still able to be coaxed into eating. The lake was completely full after the recent rains and l knew they would have to be stacked up deeper in the channel at the last edge of the grass lines. Getting to them would be tricky from the bank, but I found the best solution was to put on my tall neoprene boots and walk out 20-30’ into the water to cast another 40yds towards the channel. I guessed right and began picking them off almost back to back to back using the Deps cover scat. They annihilated it, but I only had 2 with me and they chewed them both up finally.  After +/- 2 hours, the count was15 bass all 3 to 4.5 pounds, and all from the same 40’ area. I caught 2 more on fluke and another on a vision 110 jr jerkbait, then called it and went home. I beleive total to be 18 with only  1 cull, and it was close at 13”.  All in all, it was great winter morning fishing despite the deceptive conditions.
