It was overall a good day at Cordo. I met Greg as I was getting ready to start. It had been a while since I fished this property, so it was nice to see the efforts Greg has made. The most notable for me was the new extended dock.
I decided to head that way first and spent the majority of my day fishing from the dock. I took a lot of gear, and I wanted today to be an experimental day. The dock was perfect to spread out my rods and still have plenty of room to cast in multiple directions. I could cover a good portion of the lake from the dock.
I caught fish right off the bat. I caught consistently until around 11:00, then it slowed considerably. I only managed a couple after that time.
I did try a lot of techniques today utilizing different colors, sizes, weights and retrieves of various lures. The photo below is what actually landed bass today. The one with the most hits was the jerkbait. I also had my line broke on a Ned rig, but that was the only bite on it.
I did try many attempts to get something to bite in the timber, but all of my fish today came from just north of the dock. I suspect I was fishing the edge of the channel, and the bass were holding at the depth transition area.
With the addition of this dock, it makes Cordo the perfect spot for kids who want the chance at decent fish. They were all strong, regardless of size. The harvest will continue to help this property.
