This was my second time at IHF and it was again a great experience. Today the weather was absolutely incredible. A quintessential fall day in central Texas.

Early morning was cool and glassy as can be. Working the west bank topwater came up big. Though the bite was practically nonexistent until 830am, when it decided to turn on, it turned ON. The fish came in a wave as we landed about 7 fish in an hour including one massive fish that spit my buzzbait about 5 ft from the boat. Hard to guess but by head size approx 5lbs, potentially bigger. A few others landed went into the 15 - 17 in range.

The action went quiet from about 1030am - 1230pm so we paused for lunch and enjoyed the 70 degree sunny day at the dock as the breeze picked up. After lunch the bite was back on with another 6 fish from about 1pm -  2pm. The fish were everywhere on the west bank from the dock all the way past the submerged trees. Weightless flukes fished with a fast twitch and weightless natural senkos were hot.

Not to be outdone, the bite went quiet yet again from 2pm until about 4pm. As we were packing up and casually casting by the dock, we doubled up on 2 bass. Thinking the bite was back, we fished a bit longer, but that was it.

This property, the owners, and the fishing are all top notch and I truly can't say enough good things.
