Took my Bro in Law as a guest to Long Lake. While I was loading the boat, he threw a cast from the bank and landed one.. first cast. Needless to say he was locked in after that. Got on the lake at 7:30am. Fished until 2pm. Although surrounded by cattle, and roads, equipment and other lakes. You wouldn't know it once on the water. It sits low and seems as if you are miles from civilization. Water is clear and deep. First two hours we threw everything at it and nothing hit. Although they were jumping out of the water all around us. Tried top water. Frogs, hula popper, etc. Tried diving crank, spinner tx rig worm and fluke. It wasn't until I tied on a drop shot did we start seeing some action almost immediately. Caught 'em all on the East Bank from the launch point working our way South. Threw at the bank and drug it down the drop off and let it sit. Landed a couple really nice fish. One got away and it was a Hog. Would have been my PB. Put up a great long fight. I just could not get him in boat. Still devastated by it. Be careful on the launch. I took a full body unexpected dip in the water. And it's deep.  I'll be back. I want to try the other lakes there too.
