We arrived around 8:00 am and started by throwing from the bank for a while. One blew up on a frog on the first cast but I missed it. We picked up a nice 3+ on a white chatterbait from the bank and soon after launching, picked up the big fish of the the day on a black & blue chatterbait, throwing towards the bank. We found a nice chatterbait pattern, throwing towards the bank from about 20 feet of water, moving slowly around the lake clockwise. Most of the fish we caught were in 5 to 10 feet of water, skimming baits over the tops of grass. A lot of smaller fish were stacked up around the pump area. We had numerous douples there, throwing rattletraps, a road runner and chatterbaits. There’s a lot of small fish in this lake and we tried to do our part, culling about 15. We lost a couple larger fish on chatter baits in about 12 feet of water. It seemed the smaller fish were so agressive that the larger fish couldn’t get to the bait! The owner paid us a visit and we had a good talk. He was kind to allow us access to a couple of the other ponds on his property. We left Blue Lake around 2:00 and headed to Long Lake. Fishing from the bank, Trav immediately snagged a solid 3lber on the white chatterbait and we caught another 7 or so. Overall, a magnificent day although a couple of times the wind got a little gusty. We plan on returning!
