Fishing slow to start with.  Water conditions are very low (as you would expect in this drought).  Fished with partner Bill Lee who caught the biggest bass he’s ever caught.  A little over 23 inches and a litle under 10 lbs.  (see pic).  He caught that fish on green/red speck Strike King Space Monkey.  Larger fish were all down deep around the stickups.  I’m sure high water temps are driving most of them deep.  I stuck with the fly rod and couldn’t get very deep with floating line.  Caught a few bass but not in the numbers I’ve caught here before.  Did catch a nice Redear and a couple of equal size Bluegills.  Much fun on the fly.  The excessive heat drove us off the water long before noon.  So good to catch some fish since the local lakes are suffering from this drought.  We had originally booked San Saba but it is now closed at the landowner’s request due to low water.
