 I had an absolute blast fishing blue rock lake early in the morning with my little one. The bite started very hot on the Texas rig, and I dropped a shot that; my little one caught four fish back to back. These fish fought so hard that the 3rd fish hurt my sons' arms. This lake is only 48 minutes from our house, so it's perfect for taking the little one. Eric came up to us while out managing the property and suggested we give Salt Lick Lake a try since he had saw bass blowing up on Shad the previous afternoon. I am so glad we took his advice, but we were on another hot bite that lasted 2 hours. We had most of our success on bottom baits, and all fish are strong and healthy. My son and I made core memories that will last a lifetime, and honestly, you can't put a price on that. This is a very affordable lake that's well-managed and easily accessible. I am shocked this place doesn't get more bookings, but that means more fish for my son and me 😂...
