Took my daughter and her friend to fish the morning.  The topwater bite didn’t occur using buzz bait and popper.  Later tried using a variety of plastic worms, underspin and swim baits with little response. The crankbait worked early and throughout the rest of the morning although it was sporadic.  The one crappie was caught on a crankbait outside the dam. The several bream were caught on crankbait also.  I agree with John Shepard that there appears to be less moss than earlier this year.  It turned out to be quite a different experience than 6 weeks ago.
