I fished Escondido from 7:00-12:00.  I had several  blow ups on a frog early but never hooked up.  My popper worked well early and produced 7 fish before 9:30.  I switched to a Caronlina-rigged worm for the balance of the morning and caught 7 more.  My largest was 2.5 pounds with only 4 culls and most in the 2-pound range.  Things have defininately slowed down at Escondido but its a beautiful property and seems to produce even under challenging conditions.  I’m still searching for that lunker!
