Lures Used : Soft plastics, weightless flukes and senkos. Tried spinner bait and Texas rigged brush hog but no success

Fished 7 – 11:30 and caught 12. 6 small and 6 over limit ranging from 4 to 9.30 lbs. No luck with top water, spinner bait, or Texas Rigged brush hog. Only success came slow swimming weightless Texas rigged flukes and senkos. This was my first time fishing Dogwood East lake, really nice place. Took a lunch break then came back around 2. Met the owner on the road, very nice, and accommodating. Launched my boat and started trolling out to find some shade to fish and then my boat  came to a complete stop with the sound of my ultrex shaft splintering. I assume it was a stump, whatever it was completely destroyed my trolling motor shaft. So needles to say didn't fish the afternoon. Pity had a feeling this was going to be a afternoon lake.
