I want to give a special shout to Eric the land owner for allowing us to fish on his property.  He is a cool dude and never stops working on the property so be sure to say hello if you see him out there.
Friday was a super hot day and one of the first of the summer.  We could not buy a top water bite in the morning.  We were there at 6:15 am and watched the sun come up.  We are surprised but kept fighting.  Threw a ton of plastics around the weed line with mixed results.  We focused on the structure and caught a few smaller fish.  The lake is deep through the middle so we went back and forth through the middle and could not find a pattern.  Don't let this discourage you from trying the lake.  The last time I went I crushed it and caught big, angry fish.  I think the heat got to them.  My only feedback to PWF is to see if there is a way to put an easier boat launch area.  Long lake is rustic which is awesome.  However, difficult to get down there to launch, really high grass/weeds and then nowhere to stand/hang because of the slope of the entry.  Not a complaint but feedback.
The land owner came over later and checked on us and said we could hit Blue rock if we wanted.  We fished it for about an hour and caught 2 6#ers, 2 3#ers and then a 2#er!  So the pictures are from blue rock.  The crankbait bite was awesome on the north west side, near/around the pump late in the afternoon.  You could see the shad boil the water from the bass feeding below.
anyone in DFW who has not gone out and tried blue rock, salt lick or long lake...don't wait any longer.  Thanks Eric and PWF.
