I fished the AM hoping to stay cool but the wind was not on my side. How about hardly any winds. The morning stayed pretty calm and it got hotter throughout the morning. Water temps were 81-83 degrees and clarity was 1.5-2’. Started out throwing a topwater bait but nothing. The bass were following my lures but did not commit. I had to slow down the retrieve or put it in front of their face. Most of the bass came off of a jig & trailer. They were hitting it from 1-4’ of water. As the morning started heating up, I started backing off and working deeper brushpiles & the creek channel. The bass fishing was spotty the whole morning. Nothing of size was caught. I did miss a good one that wrapped and broke me around a tree. The crappie made for a better morning. They were mixed in with the bass once I started working deeper waters. I ended with 15 bass & 9 crappie and missed a few. I still love the short trip and easy access to Triple J. Thank you owner and PWF!
