Hamilton - Lee Lake
Hamilton County sports one of the most impressive court houses in all of Texas. But, you likely did not come to Hamilton to check out county court house, you came to fish. Lee lake is 20 acres in size and is less than 2 hours south of Ft. Worth and less than 2 hours north of Austin. This is an active cattle ranch and home to hundreds of Wyagu cattle. So, be sure to keep all gates closed at all times. The lake runs east and west and the deeper water is on the west side of the lake, opposite the boat launch. The water is generally clear and the dominant aquatic vegeation is Millfoil. The lake does have large red ear sunfish and big bluegill that would be great fun on a fly rod. Lake record bass is 9.5 lbs
There is a mini pontoon boat next to the launch. The boat is wide and very stable, but only has a bench seat in the back. No seat for the person running the trolling motor in the front. You may want to bring your own folding chair or bucket if you want to sit while you fish. We would recommend a trolling motor that is a minimum of 40 lbs of thrust when using this pontoon.
